News, views, scene and celebration of culture in Bali last week. Get that cup of coffee and read along.

Diving spots and diving

Bali is also known for the many beaches this island possesses. Although not white sand beaches since the island has many volcanoes, the waters of these beaches are nevertheless cool enough for a dip under the striking tropical sun. Also, since there are many beaches, you may ask, what else can we do besides swim? Well this picture will answer that.

Padang boasts of water activities like diving or fishing. Don’t be deceived by the looks of this somewhat village beach. It has more to it than what you see.

The next one although is not in Padang Bay, but is one of the most exhilirating adventures one might have. Diving whether scuba diving or free diving, is always exciting and scary especially for those first-timers. But if what you’re diving for is something that’s mind-blowing, then all that fear is washed away.

This underwater spectacle is marred by diving tourists around the world because not only is it unique, but also because the crowded above the water surface makes it a good reason to go somewhere not crowded. Just look at that picture and tell me if you’re not in awe. It’s definitely a special place in Bali.

Temple diving to above the surface worshipping

Since we are now on the subject of Bali temples, let’s go to the next, which is also a temple, but this time, above sea level.

As you may have noticed the caption says miniature. Yes this is not the real Burubudur temple, it is only a miniature model that’s located in at Banjar Village, Singaraja. Miniature only, so just imagine the real one and standing right in front of it.

We went below sea level to visit a temple, after that we went above sea level, how about . . . in the middle? Impossible? Not all. Technically, it can be possible.

This magical temple’s water sprouts springs out blessings and those seeking ablution, depending on the needs of the dweller. Also known as the Springs of God, this historic temple, as claimed by many, grants the prayers of those visiting and dipping into the water, and at the same time washing away all the negative energy. For those who are not superstitious, maybe this is not for you, although an option would be try it. It wouldn’t hurt to do so.

Diving is something mentally and physically needed to be prepared for

We mentioned earlier about diving and how it is scary for some. Well that has turned into reality. News broke out that some scuba divers were marooned off the island, found alive after 3 days!

A total of 5 women scuba divers were found alive after being lost at sea for 3 days off the outer islands of Bali. After an investigation, the yielded result was one of experience and incompetence. The Japanese divers were in a popular but dangerous diving spot, which means that the currents can change dramatically fast and the wind direction swift, making unsuspecting divers go off there route. The best advice for divers out there, experienced or not, is to “Plan your dive, and dive your plan.” This means, having an entry and exit point and following exactly that. But if certain conditions render them incapable, then emergency and safety measures must be taken, like a flotation device or a dinghy (booey) on the surface of the water so that the boat can just follow that and the divers can easily be gone to. Bali economy rising

In better news, the famous Tanah Lot of Bali was smothered by visitors. What’s new about that you think? Well it wasn’t foreign visitors. Most of them were locals or domestic travelers.

linkThe increase in the number of visitors to the famous Tanah Lot was 40%! So much more higher than what the local government expected. As a result, the income of this tourist attraction also grew. But the Bali government had plans to improve the infrastracture of this place, from the road heading to the Lot, the parking, and measures to undertake the extreme climate change. Well, even without those changes, just the scene of this place is enough even for the local tourist who patently exercised the well-known saying of “Love your own.” Obviously, the Balinese and Indonesians in general are proud of this world-renowned site.
